Balanced scorecard is a system being employed into a business in order to come up with a strategic planning and management. Throughout the world, various industries, nonprofit organizations, and government groups that are making use of this system. This is because this system has been known to connect the activities of the business along with its goals. It is one way to measure if the activities of the business are still in line with the vision of the company. At the same time, it determines what strategies the business or organization is using in order to reach its goals.

The balanced scorecard workforce allows the management team of the business or organization to see if the human capital is able to keep their roles. Once the BSC has been implemented, it will measure how well both the internal and external communications are exchanging. The strategy can also monitor how well the performance of the whole organization is doing against its strategic goals.

The balanced scorecard was developed by two doctors known popularly as Robert Kaplan and David Norton. They developed the strategy as a way to measure the performance framework of the organization. The results of this measurement are then weighed with the corresponding measurement from the strategic non financial performance and traditional financial metrics. As a result, the managers and executives of the business and organization get an equal look of the whole performance of the organization.

In the early 1990s, the phrase balanced scorecard was coined. But the roots of this strategic approach are deeper. It even dates back to the pioneering work done by General Electric in the 1950s as well as the Tableau de Bord process engineers' work in the earlier days of the 20th century. But even until today's time, the measurement has still been used as a way to measure the performance skills of a company and an organization.

Many years have passed and the BSC is still being used even in the biggest corporations standing today. But it surely has evolved from its early phase where it was used as a way to measure the simple performance framework of the company. Today, the balanced scorecard can do so much. From management system to a full strategic planning, the new BSC is capable of doing so much. It can even transform the strategic plan of an organization from an attractive yet passive document into that of a real opportunity on a daily basis. It not only provides measurements as the BSC can also help its planners ascertain what must be done and measured.

The good thing about using the balanced scorecard workforce is that it will allow employees know their roles in the organization. Because of this, everyone in the team can work harmoniously because they can avoid personal and professional conflicts that can escalate to their profession. In a way, the balanced scorecard makes things work between the top executives down to the new employees of the company. Without having to illiterate what his goals are, a manager can simply show a diagram of the BSC and have this visibly available to the employees. This allows executives to truly executive their tasks.
