However, even though companies have various goals, they would most likely focus on four things and they are the satisfaction of the customers, the internal processes, the financial aspect and the learning and growth of the employees or the workers.

To define strategic goal in its own definition, this is a statement that you or the company would like to achieve over a specific period of time. Usually, there is a time frame involved here. For instance, your strategic goal is to be able to increase the profits by 25% in the next five years. In order for you to form your own strategic goals, you will first have to analyze or evaluate the mission and vision statements of the company. This is because there is a need to guarantee that those two statements and the strategic goal are connected to each other. This way, it will be easier to achieve them and the attainment of such strategic goal will contribute to the success of the company as a whole.

After the analysis of the mission and vision statements, you will have to scrutinize the entire environment. This is where you will be able to gain the information you need towards determining the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of your business. In some ways, you may find that the process of drafting and defining the strategic goals as relatively easy. However, you will certainly need to possess analytic and logical skills especially for the rest of the strategic planning process. Set your strategic direction straight and give importance to strategic analysis. Although there is no perfect strategic planning process, you can coordinate each and every major activity involved with it. This will help you define strategic goal for your business without difficulty.
