They work with four perspectives in mind such as the financial, customer, business, learning and growth of the company. The financial perspective is an important part of the KPI process. In fact, Drs. Kaplan and Norton have not disregarded its importance. This is because timely and accurate funding data is a top priority for the business. And for this, managers do whatever is necessary in order to provide it. Often, the business gets more than enough processing and handling financial data. Once a corporate database is implemented, the company can hope for a centralized and automated processing. In this category, cost-benefit and risk assessment data are included. The customer perspective is also an important part of the KPI process since it shows the increasing realization of how important customer focus and satisfaction is in any business. These are important because once there are a lot of unsatisfied customers they will look for other suppliers who will match their needs. If this is not remedied, it can lead to a future decline of the company. The third perspective is called as the business process. This process refers to the processes within the business. The KPI process metrics which are derived from this business will allow managers to be aware how their business is running. It also tells them whether or not the products and services of the company conform to its mission of serving customer requirements. The learning and growth perspective is also part of the KPI process. It consists of corporate cultural attitudes and employee training which are both related to corporate and individual self-improvement. Because the main resource of a company is its employees, they must be continuously given the opportunity to learn new trends and techniques. This is so they can be competitive and can go along with the new business trends. The two doctors have been able to emphasize the importance of learning over training. For this reason, employees get a chance to learn through methods which are easy for them. A business that incorporates the KPI process as part of their structure will be able to get results that can help their business grow. They can use the data gathered from the KPI process and use them to analyze whether or not the business is still doing its best in meeting the goals of the company. If they are not, the process still helps because it indicates which area the company is not doing well. As a result, businesses can use the information as a basis so they can improve their structure once again.
