The retail industry changes constantly and because of that the HR in retail has to re organize and adapt their methods and structures to be more efficient. One of the biggest roles that the human resources department will play is of course recruiting new employees. The retail industry is constantly looking for part time employees to help with seasonal shopping burst. However, since the hours are typically long and the pay is just average, the human resources department much be good on selling their company to potential employees. Much like we have to do when selling ourselves in an interview. HR development is a key factor in improving the overall functions and efficiency involved in monitoring, implementation, evaluation, extension programs, and even evaluation. One of the biggest components to HR in retail is simply recruiting and training.

Any retail company that doesn't have an intact human resources department is inevitably going to run into some problems when managing any business activities, including the recruitment of new employees. One of the biggest benefits to having HR in IT retail is the public relations it can bring. HR will organize meetings, events and other official gatherings for, or on behalf, the company. This will allow the company to meet and make friends with other people in the retail field. The retails human resource department can also be responsible for preparing the marketing and business plans as well. Public relations and marketing are the two biggest things that the human resources department can do to help their retail organization. This can be especially true for retail organizations that are nonprofit or by donation only, like Goodwill and Salvation Army. The need someone to promote their services in order for their items to sell which in turn, can pay their employees. Sales and events are also two big things the human resources department can organize to attract more business and inevitably gain more sales. The main objective of any retail organization or company is to simply sell. Whether it is clothes, candles, or convenient stores, without sales the organization or company will fall under.

Making sure you utilize training, planning, and managing your within your human resources department, will help you perform all of these tasks more efficiently. Potential employees can tell when a human resources department is failing and just as they are trying to sell you themselves for the position, they want you to show you are a worthy employer to consider. Without HR in retail, managers will typically do the recruiting and training for the company. While some managers can handle the extra tasks, others see it as a burden and rubs off on the new employee. In these cases new employees are often hired on quickly with very little training. This puts your retail organization for bad customer services and lost profits, so always take the time to either implement an HR department, or take more interest in it yourself.
