It is significant that you are able to understand what it is that you need to measure and how you can measure those important aspects in the business particularly during the training process. Trainings or drills are a very good help not only for the company but also for the individuals who will be participating in the said exercise. This is because they can help themselves improve and progress on their skills and knowledge. As a matter of fact, there are several professionals today that do not stop at the level that they are in. With training, they can even enhance their skills further and refresh their memories.

There are several metrics for the training department that you can choose from. Bear in mind that the training metrics will be used in order for you to evaluate the training process, the trainees and also those who are handling the program. There is an endless list of possibilities with regards to the training evaluation metrics that you can utilize. It is up to you or the managers to determine which among the metrics are right for the company or for the training project.

Among of the most important training metrics that you should use are those that can measure the participation levels of your trainees. You can use indicators like the number of participants, the number of participants who finished or withdrew from the training program and the number of participants that were referred to the program by the previous participants. If the training program has been going on for years or that your company has been offering such service for many years now, you can measure the participation of the trainees by means of getting the number of the new participants each session.

For the training evaluation metrics, you will need to gather the information that is subjective on every individual participant. This is particularly used to know if the program has been effective and whether or not you will need to improve on the system, the mythologies that you have employed or even those who are managing the exercise. You can get the total percentage of the participants who found the drill to be helpful for them, relevant, practical, up to date and engaging.

Another important post training evaluation metrics are those that measure the participants that have already applied the learning that they have acquired for their job, those who have found out that they are more confident and also the number of participants especially the managers who have had a major increase in productivity and team morale. As you know, trainings are not easy to deploy. You will need to ensure that the results are great specifically for those who have participated in the program.
