Find out more about automated GUI test in this article. Check additional information about Automated GUI test. GUI software testing is a method in which most of the products today undergo. This is due to the fact that almost all of the programs that are out at the present time make use of graphical user interface. This is done to ensure that the program meets the specifications that has been written about it. Normally, the testers will make use of test cases to perform the said process. Now, there are two ways in order for you to test the graphical user interface of an application and they are through manual and automated GUI test. Of the two, most of the programmers today make use of the latter. This is not to say though that they do not apply the manual testing. As a matter of fact, there is still a need to perform the tests manually even if you choose the automated one. Now, there are tools that allow you to test the GUI of the program. One thing that you have to remember here is that when you test components that make use of graphical user interface, it is quite different when you evaluate those non-GUI elements. In the latter, the engineers create test scripts so that they can assess the application under test. On the other hand, if you will be testing the GUI of the application, you will have to utilize the test tools that are available today. These tools have the ability to recognize the GUI components that are present within the application. After that, there is a need to generate a test script so that the engineers will be able to perform different actions from the keyboard and the mouse. This will test the functionality of the GUI modules. Eventually, the developers will find out whether the visible representations for the GUI of the software applications are consistent when compared to the desired functions. This of course will make sense to the users of the program. Now, there are manufacturers that have developed several testing tools which will be used for the automated GUI test. These utilities enable the test engineers to record the test scripts that they have generated and they can play them back later. This action gives them the opportunity to save time and effort in testing and debugging the software. However, you should not completely rely on the tools that you can exploit today. It is important that you are able to research first and investigate the tool that you intend to utilize. The commercial test tool should have the capacity of generating the GUI test scripts automatically. This means that it can perform such task without your supervision. In addition to that, the test scripts should have the capability of performing and verifying that the GUI actions have been executed successfully. Of course, it should be able to find the bugs quickly and effectively. With automated GUI test, you can check whether there are bugs, errors or defects in the GUI of the system. You can therefore make the necessary adjustments in the software that you are developing so that the end users will support the effort that you have made.
