Navigation: All Balanced Scorecard Articles > BSC software The Document Find Tool in Windows is the simplest and yet the most valuable application that Microsoft included in the package. This allows for easy accessibility and frustration-free convenience. Check additional information about Document Find Tool. The Document Find tool in Windows is a simple yet very capable application that is built into the system of every version of the operating system. However, it is also one of the least used programs for the reason that it does not really serve an important purpose unless the need for it arises. In other words, this program is a passive one - it just sits there until needed. No matter how simple or passive this application is, this finds great use for those who make their living in front of the computer, making, formulating, and editing documents. This means that every single document they work with is saved in different folders, which are organized according to a certain style the user may deem functional - or at least they are supposed to be. So, just in case the user is one who keeps his files cluttered in one single folder, this application will indeed come in very handy. What does this tool do anyway? Without need for more inquiry, it does exactly what it says. It finds documents that you cannot find. It locates files that you obviously cannot. But most importantly, it does the work you do not want to do because it is one of the most frustrating things you have to do while being reminded that you should organize your files a bit more. This tool may be located in the Start Menu. It is in the first field for easy access. Also, it is available with any folder or window you open, making it an "omnipresent" program. You can access this application by clicking the "Find" or "Search" command in the first menu that appears after clicking the Start button. You can also access this by pressing "ctrl+f" while any window is open. This will open that very same window where you can specify the parameters that the system will use in locating your document. There will come a time when the system will not locate your file even though you are sure that you saved it in the very same computer you are using. This may happen for several reasons - a few of which are that you indicated the wrong parameters that will guide the system in its search; you indicated too many parameters that made the search too specific and limited, or that the document is hidden. In the latter case, however, you can set the parameters to search even hidden files and system folders. However, this technique is not always successful so it may be worth considering that your document has its hidden parameters enabled - for some reason - that it could not be located by the Windows search system. The Document Find Tool may be the first thing you can resort to when you are losing valuable documents. If this does not do the work you hoped it would, you can always search for and download similar programs off the Internet, which may have higher sensitivity and allows for more search parameters in order to assist in locating your missing document.
