Typically, people will think that creating key performance indicators is a job that is solely for the managers of the business. However, this can also be applied on our personal life. The KPIs will do the same for you - they will measure the ones that matter. In the end, you will have a more meaningful life as you give attention to those that can contribute to your wellbeing and improvement as a person. If you are an employee and you would like to gauge your own performance, then you can design personal KPI. The personal KPI will provide you with the information you need to determine if you are a good worker or not. This will then aid you in developing your skills and offering better services to the company that you are currently working in.

In order for you to design personal KPI, you will need to first have a goal. This is also the same as the business indicators. Your goal will be the center of the measurement. For instance, you would like to see how well your work is aiding your financial requirements. This is where you can come up with personal financials KPIs. This is quite helpful for every employee for him or her to learn about his financial position. Among the KPIs that you can utilize here are the emergency funds that you have saved, the average outstanding balance on your credit card, the index of your retirement plan and the numbers of subscription for insurance schemes.

To make the measurement easier for you, you can divide the KPIs into different groups. For instance, in the example given above, if you would like to have personal financials KPIs, you can use structural, credit and savings, benefits and transparency and financial history classifications. On the other hand, if you would like to make sure that your health is not affected by the job that you are performing, you can use personal health indicators. These tell you whether or not you are completely healthy in various aspects. Knowing such will enable you to maintain or improve physical condition and thus you get to perform your work better. The personal health indicators measure different things including body and mental condition, body composition in relation to the environment, daily food intake and family history.

You can also choose other work related KPIs including the measurement of the praise that you obtain from your superiors. This will enable you to know if you are able to get the recognition that you deserve with regards to the work that you have performed. You can also measure or get the percentage of the things or the activities that you carry out every single day that you find enjoyable. This is quite essential because when you are able to determine specifically the tasks that you enjoy the most, you can improve your performance on those tasks.

KPIs are effective motivational tools especially if you an employee seeking for a way to design personal KPI. However, make sure that you are able to manage them well so that you can keep track of, improve and increase or minimize issues on your job performance.
