For successful implementation of Kaizen it is seen that employees from all departments attend the meeting and discuss the weaknesses pertaining in their departments. Once the weaknesses are outlined all the employees can together discuss ways to bring improvement in the organization. The ideal time of Kaizen meeting is one and a half hour consisting of fifteen minutes break in the middle.

The steps involved in Kaizen events can be implemented with ease in either 5 days or three days schedules. Normally the area that lacks behind in performance is chosen to be improved by applying the steps of Kaizen events. The most weak area of the company is identified only after deep analyses of all the departments of the company. During this process, the departments are evaluated and graded on the basis of productivity outcome, productivity timeline, employment satisfaction and total profitability. Usually more than one department or sector of the organizations needs to be focused upon. The departments that experience the most number of delays and give cushion to disgruntled employees are the first departments to be targeted and improved from numerous aspects.

Once the areas having problems are identified, a team of having six to seven personnel are brought together to form a team. The main task of this team would be construct ideas that will help in solving these issues and enhancing the efficiency of the department and the organization as a whole.
